mothering
Motherhood entails a significant shift in the perception of time and priorities. As women nurture a child within their womb, their bodies and minds undergo profound changes, altering their experience of time. However, societal demands for productivity often disrupt the natural nurturing time, leading to a dissonance between a mother's need to care for her child and the pressure to meet external expectations. This sound piece is intended to capture the living moment of mothers and serves as the initial exploration of the multiple temporalities within motherhood. It encompasses the time of the future, the time to produce or conceive a child, and the time required to shape the future, such as the time devoted to caring for a child. Through this exploration, listeners are invited to contemplate the possibility of creating new temporal realities that offer paths to the emergence of new identity, particularly the identity of a mother. voiced, recorded and edited by maria padilha
