Manifesto for Mothers
Imagine a world where mothers are heard
Where their wishes are listened to
Where caring is valued
Imagine a world where mothers are well-paid
Where they can be recognized
Where caring for others is the highest career
Imagine the world in which mothers are cared for.
Embraced instead of put away.
We gave birth to the future.
We gave birth to everyone: the teacher, the driver, the scientist.
We gave birth to the whole world.
My belly is the door, and I hold the key.
We are a direct channel to the cosmos.
We are the reason for the existence
From within my entrails come he, she, they, many others.
Without us, nothing, void.
We are the union of stardust.
Our womb is the universe.
From there comes flesh, life, and soul.
We are the beginning, the middle, and the end.
Without a mother, emptiness.
With a mother, everything. One can be.
Mothering is political.
It is the beginning of change.
Through mothering, we educate conscious people.
Ancestral knowledge with the power to change.
Let's create a whole new world, new people, new thinking.
Let's create, even in chaos, even when there will be doubts.
Let's stand up for ourselves, especially if someone asks us to leave
We are the creators.
Let's be the mothers we want to be: vulnerable humans, full of mistakes.
Let's expand our ways of thinking about existence with our sons and daughters.
Remember the sea. Remember the water—the water within our wombs.
